I have a bunch of both. Any thoughts from anyone? There are visual difference but I haven't run a Eureka yet. Any thoughts from the veterans here?

Eurekas are terrific.....but inconsistent.
Sometimes they flatten after a few hard hits....
...but the ones that hold up play as good as an original Moori.

Any experience with Crowns to compare? I love Crowns, my favorite tip so far. I have a nice stash of Eurekas and they seem pretty rock hard, in a good way.
My favorite tip for years was the Champion, which is the Crown with a
red bakelite backing.
They were harder and more consistent than the Eurekas.
If you got the old Crowns, it'll be a good tip.
French tips were the cutting edge for many years.....
...I feel that's why we tend to think in millimeters for tips....
....I've never known (or care) how long or heavy my cue is metrically.
I do know that the Crowns are just Champions minus the backing. They hit harder than Champions.

Actually the Champions were a tad harder than the Crowns.
I see that in the video, too. When I shot them they seemed softer. Interesting. I figured the backing softened it up.
I got my info from the Chandivert brochure. A Crown has a hardness of 98 - 100 and the Champion is 100 - 103
