Earl is rubbing off

Jayson shaw and Mika are both using what it looks to be like are those balance rite cue extensions that go between the shaft and butt to add almost 4"of length to the cue.

Looks like earls ideas are rubbing off on the other nyc guys! Not to mention shane is also playing with that extension on his cue.

Maybe earl was right the whole time ;) haha

When it comes to matters ON the table, I'd guess Earl is right far more often than not.

Shane never misses an opportunity to mention that he thinks Earl is a pool genius. Since I think Shane is a pool genius, I'd never discount anything he said about anything pool related... especially regarding his opinion of Earl.

We can all learn from Earl, but he is his own worst enemy. Earl kept his composure pretty well at SBE vs Mika, I was happy for him for doing that. I really enjoyed him marching to the finals vs Shane even though he lost to the Beast (I was not there for that match) :-( . Earl must be the toughest 54 year old on the planet. Earl THE Pearl :thumbup2:

I know I'm not the sharpest guy in the pool hall......
...hell, I used to think a joint protector was a door man.

But 6x12 snooker players tend to play with a 57 inch cue.
Pool players tend to play with a 58 inch cue on a 9 footer.

...and it's the pool players that want to make their cues longer????

A great deal of mutual respect...no doubt about it!

Did you hear what Earl was telling Mika after the match?

Oh...it was hilarious! Real funny for me since I am a fan of Earls.

I really do think it is great for Earl to be still competing.

Where's the rest of those great shooters from back in the day (1980's)?

Keith, Buddy, Rempe, Reid (thumbs down), etc....

I think it's because snooker players know beyond a shadow of doubt that there will be many shots they must learn to make with the aid of the rake on those big tables, so they take the time to learn its proper use as part of their training.

Pool players OTOH play on these dinky little 9' tables, and are are convinced they can avoid learning to use the damn rake entirely just by stretching and using a 32" long bridge.

Hopefully Earl doesn't rub off to much. I could imagine the Mosconi team
coming down to the table wearing ski goggles, 40 pound arm weights,
ass-less chaps and 75'' inch cues. How could they lose?:)

Snooker players use extensions also. Sometimes two feet long. Just not all the time

Who cares about using a rake when you can have a screw in extension. I find the rake takes me out of rhythm and also don't have to bend over, only to realize its on the floor on the other side of the table. As far as the balance rite extension, it changes the weighting of the cue further ahead, I would rather have it at the end personally.

Here we go again with another disgruntled snooker player pumping the pool players tires because they play on 'dinky' little tables.. Are you nude, looking in the mirror while you wrote that? Play table #3 at Steinway and see how easy the little tables are

Honestly I love watching Earl, but it kind of bothered me when he played Rodney Morris at the expo. They both were running racks back and forth in the beginning. But then towards the end of the match Rodney lucked a ball in or got lucky with his positioning and Earl yelled f*** or something like that and slammed his hand down on his table by his seat while throwing a piece of chalk at the floor. Rodney turned around and looked furious and then he shook his head and continued shooting and missed the next ball or made one then missed an easy one. From there on out it was Earls game to win. Rodney couldn't run 3 balls from that point.

So I definitely think he sharked his way to victory which sucks to see because I think earl is such an incredible player.

Yup

I've seen them used before, with the bridge.

Well, yes, I was nude looking in the mirror when I wrote that. Then they kicked me out of Victoria's Secret before I could expound on it.

Actually, I never played a frame of snooker in my life. It was strictly a tongue-in-cheek comment meant to poke fun at those snobby snooker Brits that are always insulting our game.;)

Yea one thing that's easy to notice, Earl doesn't like when opponents get lucky.

The 6 inch mini butt is used for those just out of reach shots

the longer extension is used with a rest (rake) as some shots are impossible
to each

I know this. Under the picture it says
"I've seen them used before, with the bridge"

You really think someone is going to try to use it without the bridge?

I have played with extensions of different lengths.....

....but I don't leave them on the cue for shots I don't need them.

That's what I think is extremely weird...LEAVING the extension on.
