Pleased to meet you Smashermouth & I hope you enjoyed the tournament.

Something happened when Ronnie posted his 10th frame in the Final & it was as if the Snooker Gods suddenly turned against O'Sullivan & said you aint winning this Final ! :wink:

Anyway , I was Following a facebook poster for info this time at the Crucible & a few more but it became apparent that they were a huge Ronnie fan as their posts over the final sessions turned into expletive rants against Selby & they saaid it was the worst final ever etc & as I scrolled back my facebook time line I had a great laugh reading their posts & they said they wouldn't congratulate Mark Selby on his win & I thought that dude is a bad loser.

The way I look at it , the game of Snooker won at the end of the day & a new name is etched onto the trophy !

Well , somehow fro 8-3 & 10-5 behind Mark Selby found a way to turn this match around into an 18-14 win.

The late great Darts commentator Sid Waddell would've said something like Mark Selby needs the mother of all comebacks , Lazarus style & what do you know this time it came off ! :wink::D:thumbup:

Though I did not get to watch the entire finals due to work and the fact it is only available on stream here in the US, I thought it was great. You could see the momentum swing back and forth. One day I'll have to make it over there to see it in person. That would be fantastic.

Thanks for the input onepocketron & I hope you do get to cross the pond one day & make it to The Crucible audience but it doesn't matter to me as I've never been there either but I'm the complete armchair fan ! :wink:

Something strange happened when Ronnie O'Sullivan marked the beads to 10-5 but right now I cant figure out what the problem was.

I don't know when I first noticed the red mark at the side of Ronnie O'Sullivan's right eye but when I did I put it down to a female fan's lucky lipstick kiss but now I'm thinking did he say something to somebody somewhere that was out of place & they smacked him with a puch on the right side of his face ? :wink::cool::D:thumbup:

Well it was a privilege & an honour to meet up at this year World Championships my friend & I dont need to ask the question if you had as much fun as myself.

As time passes & we digest some more of the World Championship 2014 Finals I'll be looking for that red mark that appeared at the right side of Ronnie's eye wondering exactly how & why it got there ! :wink::grin::grin-square:

I wasn't much of a prophet this tournament.....I bet on Fu at 40/1....I didn't think Mark could
beat Neil....I thought Ronnie wouldn't need all the final sessions to win....I'm a bum. :embarrassed2:

It wasn't till 10/7 that I realized that Mark could take it....not by playing Ronnie's game, but
by playing his own, A great match is two players fighting each other with everything they
have.....thus the boxer analogy Mark played the game that Ronnie didn't want to see.

Joe Perry had Ronnie O'Sullivan by the balls so to speak & I wonder what he was thinking if he was sitting back watching the Final , probably thinking I had Ronnie beat !

Yo could also suggest that Judd Trump is wondering how Neil Robertson beat him & thinking this could've been his title & then again Neil Robertson might be wondering how he didn't beat Mark Selby & have another chance of a World Title ! :wink:

Well , at one point I thought it was on the cards for son Johnny to call the shots yet again but it just didn't happen & Mark Selby beats Ronnie 18-14 ! :rolleyes::frown::smile:

I was listening to Talksports radio yesterday & on the Hawksby & Jacobs afternoon show

& they interviewed Willie Thorne about the World Snooker 2014 final & Willie said that he had read on various social media sites about Mark Selby being slated for being boring to watch and his slow play but let's face it said Willie , if every frame was a 147 break people would say that's boring too.

Willie Thorne said look at the players Mark Selby had to beat on the way including the world number 1 , Neil Robertson & the defending champion Ronnie O'Sullivan to take the title.

Willie Thorne said & by the way me & Mark missed out on the Leicester City FC victory parade due to the Snooker coverage and it's not every day our football team win anything ! He didn't know about Ronnie o'Sullivans car crash until they mentioned it .

To win any match you gotta dig deep , tough it out & grind it out but at this years Championships Mark Selby played his own game his own game to find the win.

He might not be everybody's favourite player but he found a great inner strength to summon the courage & find the way to beat Ronnie O'sullivan in the Final !
