Evidently it's getting worse. My bad for dealing with someone not familiar with shipping internationally.

Used Southwest shaft = 182
Shipping = 38
UPS Brokerage and
Handling. = EIGHTY THREE F@@KING USD

TOTAL COST OF USED SOUTHWEST SHAFT 303 USD!!!
R U KIDDING ME!!!!!!!!!!!!! A new one is 325 from Southwest.

To make matters worse, they only deliver Monday to Friday. Since they won't deliver unless the amount owing is paid, I have to take time off work and wait all day for the package to come because their driver was also too lazy to leave an approximate delivery time.
Unlike FedEx or Canada post, UPS does not have a pick up office anymore because they're a bunch of CHEAP *****S!

go price the shipping charges at either the Post office or FED-EX and let me know what you come up with!!!! Also you are free to call them and make arrangements to pick up your stuff at you local UPS building any time you want!!! Just call them!

No inspection fee, no taxes.

I had a snooker cue, mini butt, extension, aluminum case shipped from the UK.
Sailed right through without inspection.
Documentation showed the correct value.
 
ups drivers have very limited time per stop so maybe he was behind. UPS stores are not part of UPS they are just a business that uses the name. the UPS drivers are tasked with over 80+ stops a day so they cant leave a approx. time just because if they do leave one and they dont get there by that time the customer tends to send in a complaint and the driver gets in trouble. sometimes they dont have a approx time they will be there. with the brokrage and taxes thats not really ups's fault because thats the fee for when it crosses the border. same with taxes. depending on where you live there might be a UPS warehouse where you can pick your package up. hope this helps and i hope you enjoy your new shaft!

Brokerage is what UPS charges not inclusive of what is required by customs for taxes and applicable duty. Its what they bill the end customer for not having the package go through customs for processing.
 
That kind of stuff has been in the news for a few years now. Not sure why anyone would accept something shipped to them in Canada via UPS. Crazy.
 
If your place of employment receives UPS you could have it sent there. That is of course if they'll allow it.
I've done this in the past with boat trailer parts to large to hand off load. A replacement axle assembly.

Just saying.
 
Not that I am trying to defend UPS (United Parts Smashers) as I think their prices have gotten out of line but our UPS guy shows up within about a half hour time slot everyday unless he is bringing a Red Label package which must be delivered by 10:30am
