I was sitting around thinking about all of these cues I see being abused at pool halls lately......by borderline bangers and serious players.......and just wanted to see what you guys see in your pool halls.

Vote for the cue that you see being abused the most. House cues do not count. Let's stick with cues that people bring with them.

If you want to tell us why you voted the way that you did that would be good too.

I voted for playing cue because it's in the players' hands the most. You can't really "miss" on the break as discernibly as with a shot... most bangers up through mediocre players are satisfied with forceful head-ball contact. Jump cues might get whacked on a rail or tossed after a bad attempt, but by virtue of numbers alone I think the playing cue sees the most torture.

The most abused cues are:

1) Cues used by hotheaded gamblers
2) House cues
3) Any cue left out for little children to play with
4) Any cue used for league play, subjected to drunk or stupid people knocking them over all night long
5) Bar beaters
6) Jump / break cues
7) Break cues
8) Jump cues

I voted playing cue just because its used so much more, you only use break cue roughly !/2 the games you play and the jump cue you rarely use hopefully.
Replying to a previous post, one of my league team mates has missed 7 break shots and counting so far over 2 seasons, once twice in a game.:rotflmao1::rotflmao1::rotflmao1::rotflmao1::rotflmao1::rotflmao1:

Abuse? Depends on how you look at it.

I would say a break cue will get the most wear and tear if used frequently.
I tend to keep my player in pretty good shape. I wouldn't call small dings, abuse.

playing cue

I voted for playing cue. One of my friends has anger management issues, and shattered his almost new Lucasi against a telephone pole after losing a game. Finite abuse, for sure.

Im talking about players throwing cues on the ground, up against walls, banging them on rails, and things like that.

The reason I started this thread is because I was at a tournament this past Saturday and saw lots of cues being treated poorly. The one that made me sick was a Southwest playing cue....yes a Southwest. The guy slammed the forearm of the cue up against the rail of a diamond table and it sounded like a 22 rifle going off. I thought it snapped in half, but it didnt have a single scratch on it. My brother looks at me and says, "now we know that Southwest makes excellent quality cues because that one shouldve broke in half."

P.S. it wasnt a cheaper Southwest either.

They shouldnt put telephone poles inside pool halls.

Ohhh, gotcha.

Well, even in that case, I've still seen more break cues get destroyed.
