CSI 1o Ball -- How is a tie decided to see who moves on ?

The way I understood it, it's games won on your losing matches only.....


But the more I here different people explain it, the less I 'm sure of what I'm sure of....

Considering everyone wins the same number of games in their winning matches, there is no comparitive difference in wins on your losing matches only vs total wins.
 
OK I just listened again, and it goes like this: If there is a two-way tie, whoever won in their head-to-head match wins the group. If there is a three-way tie, they go to games won. Count up all the games they won, subtract all the games they lost, and whoever has the biggest differential wins. They didn't say what happens if there's still a tie at that point.
