where i play snooker it is only .25 per player per game so they use 10 red balls to speed the games up, if they use 15 on a 12 foot table 10 would seem to work better on a 10 foot table, on a 9 footer there would be a lot of congestion

Reducing reds will speed the game if both players play good otherwise it will be many misses with low score game, and probably will take longer to finish..
