This just came in the mail.

Butt-28.25"
Shaft-29"
Joint-.875"
Above wrap-1.065
Below wrap-1.20

Milk white Deleon buttcap
Wood sleeved pilot-.093" 3/32
Joint collar-.5"

For some reason I'm thinking its a full splice.

I had originally thought this was a late 70's/early 80's Palmer, from the Adam point blank era.

The sharp point pin was something Adam did a lot. So I would guess it probably came from the Adam factory even if they were building it for a private label retailer. That is not to say Adam was the only pointed pin, but that would lean me more toward them than Palmer.

I got a response from Tate, The Palmer Collector, stating that he felt this cue is a Palmer prototype made at the Adam factory. Makes sense considering the Palmer/Adam connection during the late 70's/80's.

???

I bought this cue from Patrick because I was wanting a player, the price was reasonable, and the maple to maple splice appealed to me as it is reminiscent of the Palmer 3rd Catalog Model 10. Patrick had done some judicious cleaning of the butt cap and joint before he sent it to me, so it is more presentable than it appears in these pictures.

It's a nice player indeed and I had Paul Drexler aka PFD Studios make two gorgeous matching shafts which he delivered with very straight and very tight grain.

Whether this butt and original shaft is something made in a back alley or is in fact an Adam, or indeed a Palmer prototype makes no difference to me but I AM still curious who exactly made it.

After I acquired the cue, there was a discussion here on AZ with pictures of an identical cue to this one but with the name "RICH" stamped on the butt cap.

So does anyone have any further opinions or input on this? Better still, does anyone have any copies of catalogs?

Some great looking classic cues I like the wrap on urs sorry I'm no help here

No idea all I know is thats one sexy old style cue, Id play the hell of of it after a nice refinish and maybe a slight pin change.

Here Are Pics of an Identical Cue

The cue in these pictures was the subject of a discussion on Facebook and has "-RICH-" on the butt cap and is identical in every other way to the cue in this thread.

So the question is .... Is the cue in this thread made by:
- Adam
- RICH Cues
- Adam for RICH Cues
