Leather conditioning for pockets...

The leather pockets on my table are a bit dry and in some cases, rubbing off color impact spots onto the pool balls that get shot in with force and spin...

Wondering if mink oil, saddle soap or some other product are a good solution to adding longevity to the leather. Need to do something, just not sure which is best.

Any suggestions appreciated...

I would go with Lexol cleaner first and then Lexol conditioner. Saddle soap may contain sulfates that will really do nothing for the drying and cracking, as it is intended as a cleaner- to be fair, the lexol cleaner probably does too, but that's why you follow with the conditioner. Mink oil takes a long time to absorb, and is really not intended for use as a conditioner. It may leave residue on the balls, and then that could get in your cloth. I typically use mink oil in situations where leather may be exposed to moisture, as it is a decent repellant, but can effect the leather's ability to breathe.

Thank you very much for your advice... I'm glad I posted here before I just ran with it. I ended up using an automotive leather conditioning product for leather seats. It soaked in pretty much immediately and did not leave any noticeable residue on the pockets. Two days later, they feel better to the touch and look a bit nicer, too. I think that was probably the first time they've ever had any kind of treatment used on them. I will apply that conditioner periodically moving forward. S
