How do Poison cues hit? Are they good players to the average decent player?

I never played with a Poison cue before, and if they are made by Predator, then do they hit anywhere near as good as a Predator hits?

I guess that would be like asking if a Mcdermott Star cue hits as good as a regular Mcdermott (1st quality cue), which I am sure it would not be in the same league (hit and quality wise).

I found this Poison cue (that looks identical to the one in the link below) in a Pawn shop, and it is priced at a $100 (thinking maybe I can talk them down to $70 or $75 on it).

But I just do not know if I would like the cue. Do very many players use these cues, and like them? Thanks for any opinions about the cues, and if the cue in the link above is fairly priced at a $100 (as a used cue in good condition)? Thanks.

I really like my Bolt 2. I won it in a raffle this summer and made it my regular playing cue. I had been playing with a custom cue before that.

Justin,

I picked one of these cues up for my roommate last year for Christmas. I bought it off Amazon for under $150. This is his first cue.

I recommend new players starting with a LD shaft - which is a seamless transition regarding learning VS un-learning.

Overall, I am really impressed with the cue...

- It has nice balance and a solid hit.

- Comes standard with 13MM shaft, which is slowly becoming less and less the "standard".

- Easy to move the cue ball.

- Factory installed layered tip plays well once broken in and properly shaped.

The only downside I found with the cue is the plastic/nylon shaft insert and the shorter pin. My roommate managed to cross the threads. Still goes together tight, but is worth mentioning.

For $100 or less, I think it is a good buy. Hope this helps, and good luck.
