Hey Guys, Just a thought but I was thinking of creating a penny bid auction site dedicated to billiard related items. Your thoughts and feedback from the pool world would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Can't hurt to try'. Not sure how many pool related items are gonna sell for a penny.

If you charge for bids, you won't make much. Those are scammy business models and pool players don't pay for anything they don't have to.

That was my thought. At least if I lose a bid on ebay I'm not out anything. I signed up for one of those penny sites and yeah, you bid a penny or 2 but each time you bid it costs money also. I remember one of the early sites every bid was around 1 dollar and if you lose you don't get that money back. People aren't really getting computers for 20 dollars contrary to what the commercials say.

Too bad the South Dakota common sense isn't contagious

My friend Jeff opened a really nice auction site for pool items in 2012. It never really took off. I think the strength of ebay is in the volume of people that visit the site.

I'd be happy to put you together with him if you like.

Ray

ps. You will probably find a post here about it if you do a search. Billiard Bidz was the name.
