any details on how this league works? It's a league, of pro players,,,,,, I'm confused.

Invitational event for the top players.
Seven two day events plus the final group of the seven winners.
Round robin format

Best of five frames.

One point for a win.

Best four play semi finals
Final match of the two day session is the final
Winner gets into the ultimate two day session
Next four come back for the next two day session.
Bottom two are eliminated.

The winner of the ultimate session, made up of the winners, gets an invite to the Champion of Champions, with a first prize on 100,000 pounds.

The next two day event is made up of the 4 survivors from the previous two day event plus 3 additional players.

Players, based on ranking, are asked into which Group they would like to enter.

Players are ranked by most points, most frames won and least frames lost, in that order. If that is still the same then the result of the match between the players in question will determine the ranking

See the scoreboard here

Haven't seen the current prize list, but it has bee 100 pounds per frame, bumping up for the semis and final.

Players tend to look upon it as paid practice :D
Since the Masters runs next week, the top players like to play this week.

Unitl this year, only one 147 has been made, by Shaun Murphy in 2014.

Barry Hawkins scored a 147 today against Stephen Maguire.

Shaun Murphy has dropped out because of illness, and is being replaced by Makr King.

Unless someone else drops out later in the series, Murphy won't get back in.

Held at a golf club - no audience - just the players, referee and commentator.
On the internet, not on BBC, Eurosport or Sky.
No practice tables.

Can be long days - started about an hour late today, Neil Robertson and Barry Hawkins played a 5 frame marathon that further delayed things because both of them were to play in the next matches. Now about 1.5 hours behind schedule.
