I ordered McD cue in '09 from Ozone.I had an option to have my name engraved on butt below McD logo.The logo is factory and under finish.My name is engraved on top of finish.How can this be removed without marring finish and how much would it cost?Thanks for any help,Johnny Rosato~B'ham,Al

If it is on top of the finish and the logo is under the finish then technically you could sand it off without going through the finish.

Only sand enough to take the letters off and nothing more. Then use 320,400,600,800,1000,1500,2000 and 3000 grit sand papers to buff it back out so the scratches are gone then get a 4 or five part polishing system and buff it to a high shine. It can be done but the problem lies in the time and having the tools.

If you don't have all that it is going to cost you a lot of money to get it all. It might be cheaper to bite the bullet and take it to a cue repair person and have them do it. just the cheap polishing system will cost you 30 to 50 bucks. And then the sand paper could cost as much as 10 bucks. Then if you do it wrong your looking at a refinish which would cost 100 to 150.

Even if you paid someone 75 an hour to work on it it would be saving you money in the long run. Honestly I would just take it to someone unless you have all the stuff already.

Im pretty sure you can send it to McDermott and they will do it relatively cheap plus shipping. The last time I checked it was only $50 for them to replace a butt cap.
