We all muse on different things Pool and here is one of my musings.

Due to the cost of table transportation and setup, bleachers, connections for streaming, rent advertisement and all that.....

I would think that if one built a Pool Room that was set up with the seating arrangements for viewing that Promoters could rent those spaces and a lot of money could be saved and more events would be held simply because the fact that the facility is there and everything you need is there. Of course it would have to be a Pool Room, Billiard Academy and maybe even Sports Bar to make it work but....if it were a stand alone in the right spot...sounds like an idea to me

So what do you all think? Seems to me those costs prohibit Pool Promotion so could this idea pay for itself?
 
The retail business is all about sales-per-squarefoot, and pool isn't cutting it under the best of circumstances (i.e. most tables in the least square footage, good customer count). I can fit four eating/drinking tables in the space it takes for one barbox; and no one is going to come in "just to sit" the way pool players come in "just to play pool."

Tournament seating, etc. sounds great...until you're the one paying rent.

I agree on that much I guess I envision it as a stand alone structure modular in construction so it would a little less expensive...but youre right rent ...no..it would have to be something owned.
 
I have not been there in a while, but Country Club USA had excellent seating and I think even bleachers in one of their two rooms. They've been closed for years though so no more tournaments there.

From what I heard the owner died and the kids decided to sell the place, seeing how pool had died out, can't really blame them. You don't have waiting lists anymore for a table, except in a few rare places. Used to be you had like a 15-60 min wait in almost any pool room for a table on weekends.

Thats a shame but it echoes what has been happening in the world of pool. Which is something I am working on now I believe there is a way to come up with and Advertising Method that will expose pool to the general public that can work for the Billiard Business that will allow Pool Rooms to advertise and direct people to their businesses. That I think is important. It would be to me were I in that business. Without affordable advertising I think the industry will continue a downward slant.
