Rodney Morris and Edgie Geronimo Rematch? Tuesday, April 7th

I don't think I have ever bought a POVPOOL PPV in the past but I am far more likely to do so in the future. There are many people who would charge a PPV, end up with a bunch of issues, and then blame it on the internet connection. Your honesty about the slow internet, and your spending your time to "still" provide the stream for free so that fans of this sport can see this match is not lost on me, and I am sure it is not lost on many of the others here as well. Thanks man.

What he said! I too will buy a PPV in the future although I will not be around tonight to watch this one.

Thanks POV.

Rocket is rocketing away now leading 2-0
In 2nd rack, Rodney running out and has easy 10 ball with slight angle to shoot into centre pocket. (This is bit harder than Biado shot on 10 ball that he did not call and then lost in last years 2nd Mp cup semi v Pupul)
But Rodney did not even bother to shoot the 10. He just grabbed the 10 ball to rerack
Is that even ok ?

Edge probably said he was good, and we couldn't hear it

fell asleep at around 14-14 also.

some redemption for Edgie for last weeks loss!

No disrespect, but pretty wild for a hardly heard of player from the Philippines to come over to the U.S and beats one of our best.

I knew it was a bad idea for Rodney to go play on those tables!! He should have made him play at hardtimes under perfect conditions again. There's a door that opens and closes right near the table that makes that table play wet..He got trapped there.. Taking nothing away from Edgie's great play but this wasn't a good idea from the start..Rodney was stealing when they played at hardtimes under perfect conditions, not so in this gaff environment ...

That's ok...

A lowly shortstop from the US beat Edgie, so don't feel too bad... :grin-square:

Couldn't stay awake til the end on the east coast.
How did it end?

Me neither.

Me too, 14-14 was right around 2AM Eastern time and I had to get up early.

25-15 Edgie

Congrats to Edgie on round 2. I heard on the stream that he was heading back
to the Philippines, but not sure for how long. I smell a rematch for the tie breaker
when he gets back to Cali. I loved seeing 2 great players with good attitudes going
at it and hope it happens again. Thank you POVPOOL!

I wouldn't call it a "gaff environment". Just a different environment.

Players have to adjust to different conditions all the time. Rodney just couldn't adjust. Doesn't make it gaff....

I agree. Rodney was there in advance, and gave the ok. He also jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead and the race was locked up at 14 apiece. Everyone is entitled to their opinions but to put more emphasis on the table or environment here rather than the play of each, is a bit unfair, imo.

Congrats to Edgie for his redemption. I think Rodney may still have his number though. A grudge match in neutral territory is definitely in order.

Thanks for the stream Daniel...it seemed to hold up fairly well aside from a few restarts but definitely not bad at all on my end. Donation coming...

a day before the match i went there... rodney had a choice of the table right?..

i was expecting table 6 because its in the corner of the room.

i was kinda surprised he chose table 1..right by both doors where people enter simultaneously..

rodney vs. geronimo

Edgie played solid, congrats to him, he will be back in june sometime. Playing at hardtimes on 3 7/8 pockets would not be considered perfect conditions in my opinion. I think 4 1/4 pockets are better for 10 ball than 3 7/8. This match is a coin flip anyway. It was just edgie's night, a big win for him heading back home.
Playing in another players home room can work both ways, Edgie got comfortable and then got is confidence back and it was all over. There was also a lot of pressure on him to perform as he had home court advantage. Rodney never looked comfortable to me and from night to night play changes.

Heard commentators say that Rodney was distracted by loud noises in Pinoy crowd. Which they say is common in Philippines for Edgie LOL
First time I saw Edgie play . He is ok plays below Ignacio for sure - read somewhere someone said he is future World Champ. Not to knock Edgie but he is not World Champ material yet . :)

I have to say, both players at times played very sloppy 10 ball. I was surprised by how out of position Rodrigo was, and how inconsistent Rodney's shot seemed to be.

gx, edgie is only known in the Philippines. He's more recognized as "Edgie Marilao" - Marilao being the place where he hails from (about 40 miles from Efren's hometown).
