I think it jumps fantastic. I have it paired with a purple heart jump/break and to be honest, I think it jumps better than other regular jump cues I've used. You barely touch it and the cue ball just launches. I have an average stroke and can jump/draw and jump/masse much better than the few jump cues I've used. Most of the time, I'm just trying to make the ball or get a good hit, but if I ever do need to curve it a little I get twice the action compared to my Pechauer, which is just a jumper. If I'm only jumping over a sliver of the ball, I can easily get 5 or 6 ft of draw on relatively new cloth. I know a few others who use them in the Upper Midwest and say the same. For closer jumps I have short, light extension that seems to work ok, but I rarely try to jump within 3 inches of an impeding ball. The other tips may be better, but I would be surprised if the action from the Odega isn't at least comparable. Good luck with whatever tip you decide on!
