Vintage ebony conversion , Brunswick #20 ebony

I haven't posted in a while, got a divorce amongst other things but I am back on my feet and happy to be here I got this old cue with the intension of using it for conversion as it was ebony and oversized, after close inspection I realized that the butt had a flat spot on the side which was marked 21, I started inspecting closer and found the pin was a 3/8-12. I started looking closer yet and under light I found a stamp of an M under the finish on both the shaft and the butt. The pin is aluminum, collar on the shaft is 1/2 inch and on the butt 7/8 inch. The original conversion appears to date back to the 20s or 30s by my guess but I'm not sure. The pin looks handmade, all of the work was very well done, I'm not sure of the collar material on the butt but it's not ivoryI only know of one maker that had these type of characteristics around that period but this cue is very different in a lot of aspects( possibly early in his career?) I'll post more pics and measurements if needed. what do you guys think?

Pretty sure that's a Katz mark not a Brunswick.

Pretty sure that's a Katz mark not a Brunswick.

I meant to put a question mark after brunswick #20 as I wasn't sure. I couldn't find much info on Katz aside from the fact that they made cues since the 1800s, most of the info was post 1950 house cues which doesn't help much. I'm guessing the blank to be early 1900s with the flat edge as this trend died off in the 30s. Has anyone seen this stamp on a cue before? I'm not sure if it is an M or an E but it is definately a signature mark, could this be an early martin conversion?
