as a drill
if you put an object ball very close to the rail
and the cue ball the same very close to the rail
and you try to hit stop shots or follow the cue ball into the pocket
the advantage of this set up to me is you can watch to see if your shaft stays parallel to the rail
during your forward and back stroke
so you can see if your take back or follow thru is off line
now for the question
if i do this and once ive lined up and stepped into the shot and am down at address
and from there only look at the cue ball
for my warm up strokes/set/ /backstroke/forward stroke
im pretty pure as to the results
meaning no unintentional spin and a good number of perfect stop shots...
when i do the same drill looking at the object ball
at address and set
l am not as consistent....:banghead:
why do you think that is
