BCA Nationals conflict rule

I was looking to register for the 8,9 & 10 ball challenge and noticed it said they conflict with other events and you would have to choose to forfeit one of your matches.

Has this always been the case? or is this a new rule like the expo do?

I always thought Bad boy worked around this?

Maybe Mark or Ozzy could answer.

Thanks Lee

I've played scotch and singles and they always worked around it. Which they should.

If they made it like the expo, that would be horrible news. They want everyone possible to come, but then forfeit you, that's just not cool and will defitely lose players.

The Expo is the worse ran tournament on earth. Hopefully the BCA does not follow any of their footsteps.
I sure hope this isn't the case

Conflicts

We schedule around conflicts with singles and scotch doubles just like always. However, we cannot work around conflicts that may occur with every event. Therefore, with the exception of scotch doubles and amatuer singles, if a person registers for two divisions that overlap (for example...the 10-Ball Challenge and US Open 10-Ball Championship) and a conflict occurs, the person will have to choose which match to forfeit.

The old way was to not even give the player the option to register for overlapping events. However, some players are willing to take the risk and would like to have more than one shot. Therefore, we allow it but make the rules clear. I hope this helps and thanks for asking the question here so other people can see the answer.

Ozzy,
What about the 9 ball teams and the 8 ball teams. I think the 9 ball teams ends on day 1 of the 8 ball teams.

If still in the 9 ball do you have to choose an event here also?

Teams

No...we work around 9-ball and 8-ball team conflicts as well. That is why there is no forfeit statement on the team entry forms. Thank you for the question.

Thank you Ozzy for answering and clearing things up.
