So normally I warm up by throwing all 15 balls on the table and just free stroking them in. Well, since I noticed I have hide some alignment issues and among other things. I have devised a warm up that suits me pretty darn well. Mind you this is on a 9' diamond with 4 inch pockets so I missed plenty.
To start off a line up all fifteen balls down the center of the table and shoot them in the sides and corners.Half facing one direction and half the other. I do this with a firm stroke and center ball. However, I do not take any practice strokes. Rinse and repeat.Remember ONLY CENTER and NO PRACTICE STROKES.
Next is the same process with top. Try setup shots to be straight in follow the cueball in the pocket or get close.
Now do the same thing with draw. Remember, no practice strokes!
Now comes the fun part! Depending on your skill level or the difficulty of the table. play the ghost to whatever ball count is productive for you. I was playing the 6 ball ghost but only with 6 balls on the table, no practice strokes and only vertical axis!
If you don't know what a productive ghost would be for you then start with 3 balls and work your way up till you get out of line or miss the last 1-2 balls.
What I have found is this has reinforced almost all of my fundamentals including alignment, stroke, eye pattern, tangent line, and pattern play.
As someone who has relied to heavily on spin and makes slight adjustments based on incorrect alignment, this has been very productive for me.
