United mosconi cup endeavour

The Mosconi Cup is the highest profile pool event for American players, and to earn the right to represent our country is an unparalleled honour.
While there is buzz around the event, I feel it to be minimal compared to what I know it can be.

Did you know that every military base of every branch of the armed forces,
has a rec center that almost always includes a pool table?

Who better to support Team USA than the teams that support the USA??

Would you please join me in emailing the USO's of our 50 states to help build awareness?

-because they just don't know-

while inviting them to be a part of the magic that comes from being on a world stage with the best players.

I will start with Illinois and I will do all the states that no one else hits- deal?

An interesting idea, not sure what the USO could do, but they probably could do something...they have nothing to do with the recreation centers on bases, though. You need to contact the MWRs (Morale, Welfare and Recreation centers) at the various commands. They could possibly do something to organize some support, but some visits by the team to some key big bases, with exhibitions and maybe some open tournies/bounty matches could draw some interest. Maybe the USO COULD help with that. Since the MC is on U.S. soil, (and time zone) a simulcast of the service members watching a live feed from some base somewhere, cheering on our team could be arranged somehow...

I'm retired military and I've been on my share of bases over the past 20 years. While your statement is technically correct, it can be hit or miss finding tables on bases that are professional tournament worthy. I've been on bases that had Brunswick Gold Crowns, I've been on bases that had Wal-Mart Christmas specials, and I've been on bases that didn't have a pool table at all. Pool tables on bases can really be like Forrest Gump's box of chocolates... I work on an Air Force Base now and I can tell you that the 1 pool table on base (in the back of the bowling alley) is an embarrassment.

However, I'm not knocking your idea and I wish you the best of luck.

This is the largest stage for our players-Team USA- it is global.
It is up to US to help make the military personnel aware of this tournament!
