Jump cues

You mean like vote with your wallet? Or something that doesn't require any commitment.

I mean voting for jump cue or not.
Just like an election, something to see what general public's overall opinion
But I think in order to be fair, it'd require voters to be skilled players that are both comfortable at kicking and jumping and safties :p

For most, yes. But as you know there are some that does not.
So it's not universal
After all there's always two sides for everything in this world :D

Well who would vote and how would it be binding?

Right now on the local level and in many regional and pro events the promoters make up their own rules anyway.

Exactly, there's no final answer for our pool world on probably every problem its facing :o

Industry insiders (dealers) keep these gimmick sticks in the game. Virtually all top players feel they should not be allowed. Money always wins. I can't wait til they come out with the 12 volt cordless laser guided combination making machine.

In Three Cushion is allowed but not in Snooker.
I saw great jump shot in Three Cushion once. The guy made 4 balls and ran out.I think it was Blomdahl, but am not 100% sure:eek::eek::eek:

Wait.. what do you mean by made 4 balls and ran out in 3c

Ha-ha, when I brought out the Bunjee Jumper I had pros lined up to get them.

Because if they don't their opponants will, now ask those same pros if they would like to see them banned. You know & I know over 90% of all top players feel they are ruining the game.

Pool, as a sport, badly needs cash infusions to remain viable.
So I, as an avid player, welcome every gimmick the industry can sell, even if I would never use said "gimmicks."

The reason pool is so low on cash is there is not enough product turn around. Our playing implements can, quite literally, last a lifetime (cues, tables.) Cloth, rails, and even chalk expenses are usually picked up by the proprietor of the establishments, and we all know how profitable pool halls are

Think about golf, or fishing, those professionals make a good living because the casual players are constantly buying the latest clubs, balls, shoes, tackle, rods, lures and sports apparel. It is profitable to sponsor tournaments and people to sell product.

Jumping's impact on most pool matches is so negligible that rarely does it effect the outcome. Besides, the masses love to see these types of shots, and we need to "sell" our sport in order to grow.

We have to walk the fine line between being purists, to preserve the integrity of this thing we love, and being progressive enough to allow it to grow.

Shore up your safety play, learn to jump the cue ball accurately, and practice your kicking. So, If jumping continues to be allowed, you're competitive, and if it is eventually outlawed you're still covered.

I know no such thing and I might actually know more pros than you do.

OK then ask the next 20 pro's you see & I'm sure you'll find that at least 18 will say trash them. The sport does need products to help fund its own industry but not at the expense of cheapening itself. Jumping with your playing cue is a skill.... jumping with a jump cue is a gimmick.

Jumping with any cue is a skill. A jump cue only makes more shots possible
