A thread is missing.

It is four in each direction. So depending on the shot you can discard four as you walk to the table. That leaves four and of those you can discard two immediately which leaves two of which one will work. And if you have practiced enough the one that works is immediately clear. If not then you might have to flip a coin.

You can post any shot you want and someone will tell you what CTE perception covers it. For some shots there is no CTE solution (key). In those situations the player has to rely on pool sense and use whatever else he has in tool box to figure the shot out. I personally find very very very few shots that have no CTE solution.

John,

So... are you telling me that just those 4 with the very precisely defined pivots can cover all shots from straight on to 52 & 1/2 degrees of cut by only using the purely objective visual with no subjective shading one way or the other?

Thanks again.

I am saying they cover pretty much every shot to a pocket that a player can face according to my experience.

If there's one thing to be learned from watching many professional Snooker matches, it is that Snooker pros are unbelievable at accurate multi-rail kicks both in direction and speed. Remarkable, really. Though not as remarkable as JB suggesting the kicking lanes were there, with a diagram no less.

Lol.

They could learn a lot from Barton, they really could. Mind you, who couldn't?

So, you won't give a definitive answer, but it would seem by your answer that one could surmise that it does not cover all shots & would only cover 'pretty much every shot'. So, to me that is 'pretty much' admitting that there are 'holes/shots' that is does not cover.

Best Wishes.

Good job Rick. You figured it out.

Jon,

I've known almost from the very beginning that it has holes & have been saying so all along.

Did you misread what I wrote?

You have KNOWN? How can that be when you have no idea how the system even works, or what the steps are to using it? You are now claiming some kind of meaningless victory over what? Since you now know, please show us the holes in it. Enlighten us all.
