I have a cue with a leather wrap, I like the "hit" of this particular cue, sadly, it has a leather wrap. I use only wrapless cue. Any suggestion on what to replace the leather with ? I was initially thinking of having a cue maker wrap the handle section with wood veneer, is this a sound idea ?

You could have the cue refinish, linen wrap of your favorite color and then clear coat over it.

Stacked leather gives the feeling closest to a wrapless cue. You can buff those wraps to a really hard shine and seal it, feels almost like a wrapless cue.

The above is the best option I have read so far if you want a true wrapless feel that will look right. If someone goes with solid black linen it will take a close look to see that it is not an ebony handle.
