By reaching the fourth round with his win over Daryl Peach, he guarantees himself a 17-24th finish at the US Open 9-Ball Championships.

With a minimum total of 79 points, he his now unreachable at the top of the « Combined » Team Europe ranking.

Come december 7 at the Tropicana in Las Vegas, Albin will be Team Europe’s first rookie since Nick Ekonomopoulos, who debuted in London in 2012.

terryhanna do you know how many points are available and needed for the US Mosconi team? SVB is in, but isn't there a big fight for the other places - Berg, Woodward, Dechaine, etc.

I saw a post Mark Wilson made on facebook and he basically said all 5 players on team USA would come from the points leaders including his two picks.

Please USA whatever you do don't let Mike Dechaine play in the team for next couple years until USA win some more titles or he is really stepped up his game (such as convincingly beaten SVB), right now Mr. Mike aka weak-mental or always-screwed-up-important-moments-over-an-easy-shot can't play seriously LOL.

He has the most wins over Shane in a tournament match out of any other current American player. He also recently beat Shane in a race to 21 playing 10-Ball.

Mark said during his Shaw vs Bergman commentary this was not true.

Mike Dechaine is as good as shane wft are you people talking about. Have you ever watched him play? All he does is win. He never misses.

Woodward is the one that's going to kill us if he makes it. He dosent have the game and the pressure will melt him. Look at his us open play. His outs are awful cue ball control very sloppy. Safety game below par. He will not preform on the world's biggest stage against top talent.

Maybe he changed his mind or matchroom might have.
But in the post he made on facebook somebody said they thought Tommy Kennedy
would be good to play on team USA this is his reply

I think Wilson will pick Rodney as one of his wild card picks if Rodney doesn't make the top 3.
That means someone like Woodward or Deuel will be left out.

The top three in the points list are locks, so Deuel will probably make it automatically.

Terry I would never accuse you of putting something out there you did not believe to be true. Some people took what you said to mean the top 5 on the points list which is not true. Mark I believe was just clarifying that point.

He is as good if not better than anyone else to pick and he is an ultimate teammate. He almost took earl to the hill in his first round you obviously did not watch him play. Your opinions are based on hear say. You want to win the Mosconi cup? Get frost on the team!

He is a great team player/leader as seen from Bonus ball, I'm not doubting that. So what if he almost took Earl to the hill? He got eliminated. You're reaching. His 9 ball skills are not up there with America's best.

Tell me what he has accomplished in 9 Ball recently to be in the discussion for the Mosconi Cup.

Seems like a lot of people want to pick their favorite players for a free roll into the Mosconi Cup without any recent credentials. Many people are picking Morris, Archer, and Scott. How? I admire Rodney and Archer's game, as well as Scott, but they have done nothing on the 9 foot 9 ball scene this year compared to our young guns.
