Attention: McDaniel experts

I hope I've used the right forum - this didn't seem right for reviews or gallery.

I received this cue in a trade. It doesn't have a logo; as I understand this was common on Bill's earlier cues. Also I understand that at some point he used a pad behind the steel joint; if it's there, I can't see it.

I've contacted Jess at World Class Cues, as it's been discussed here they have taken over Bill's shop when he retired. I am waiting to hear back. In the meantime, maybe some of you McDaniel enthusiasts can shed some light?

- Approximately when was this made?

- Was it during collaboration with another cuemaker, or after Bill had his own shop?

- Are the shafts likely to be original?

I really like it, and wasn't considering selling. However, any comments on value are are also appreciated.

Thanks for any info!

My guess would be early 80's. I'll pass this picture along to Bill and see what he has to say.

I sent Bill the pics and then talked to him and he said he guessed late 70's 78 or so and it was his. Bill never worked in anyone else's shop, although he was a part owner of Tim Scruggs cues and did some collaboration work with Tim over the years. This cue was made before Bill marked his cues and before he added the fibre bushing under the stainless joint.

I have several of Bill's cues including one from this same time period.
