All that management really cares about...

The following is a link to a thread that I started in the Instructors Foum about 3 months after I joined AZB.

It has to do with incivility.

I just scanned it & found an interesting contrast as to how it started out & how it actually ended along with the personalities involved on both ends.

http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=289597

Anyway, I think the same question can be asked regarding the main population of AZB even though I certainly have a different understanding of the different AZB 'societies'.

There were some rather good posts made back then, at least for awhile.

I've been told that all management really cares about is harmony & civility.

It's the beginning of a near year. Perhaps we ALL should try to give Management what it cares about... or at least try to give it a good shot & at least try to not instigate disharmony through incivility, no matter how well one might be able to veil it.

Best Wishes to ALL.

The problem is this isn't something that's exclusive to azb. The problem is simple... It's easy to talk down to people and be an ass when you don't have to look someone in the eye when you do it lol simple conversations that would be a civil disagreement in person blow up on the Internet and I really not sure there's much you can do to change it.

Oh, the irony.

I just went to the thread. You had the first word and last.

I (will) civilly suggest that management give you your own sub-forum.

Now here's a suggestion that can be used expediently, "Don't throw stones if you live in a glass house."

See, there is the problem right there. You want civility, but the minute someone says something you do not like, this is how you act.

So... it's the truth that is the problem. Some don't want or can't handle the truth.

The thread is about trying to be more civil.

Post #2 was civil & on topic.

How would you classify post #3?

All I did there was make a simple truthful statement. A comment was made in a post & I responded truthfully.

If someone murders someone & another calls them a murderer, I guess the murderer might not like it as perhaps they see themselves as an exterminator of some kind & the term murderer is offensive to them.

If there are a dozen 'exterminators' that can't handle the truth of being called a murderer then I guess they might get together & agree to 'exterminate'... or murder the one telling the truth.

What's the objective truth there?

Are they 'exterminators' or are they murderers.

Which post initiated, started, or instigated incivility with incivility & perhaps started the snow ball effect?

Post 1, 2, or 3?

Please note that if you did not make your post to me, I would not be making this post.

Anonymity.........it gives a sense of bravado to cowards.......plus when you are not
standing toe to toe with the other person, or even in the same room, cowards spit
out venomous statements & condescend when they don't have to back up their words.

Indeed, the Forum can become a snake pit at times but when you spot a serpent, you should
report that Azer to the Mods......every post has the box - just click it....."Report all abusers!".
