Visual Sweep

So It's been almost a year, and I'm still working on cte. I'm still having trouble getting the visual sweep down to the point where I'm comfortable with the consistency.

I shoot left handed and my left sweeps are definitely better than my right sweeps and I just don't understand what my eyes are supposed to be doing.

So I think a number of different things are happening when I pivot.

My eyes are always focused on center fixed cueball the entire time:

1. I look at the cueball center, and I visualize the offset my cue is supposed to land on. Almost like a ghost cue that I put my cue on.

2. I can feel the correct amount to turn my body, and I really have to exaggerate the turn to make sure I'm not fighting myself. Some nights I know the exact feeling of how much to turn my body, or "roll" over my shoulder. Some nights I overshoot it.

3. I manual pivot and land in one motion. So my cue is coming straight down on the half tip pre-pivot line, and my tip lands in the center in one motion.

I could be doing a bunch of other stuff, but these seem to be the most obvious ones. They all work but none of them are giving me the confidence that I'm looking for.

I could really use some help from any one who can give more info. I own the DVD's and I've been through the info. I use cte for every shot, but my pivot is what causes me to have to stand back up and keep landing till I get it right.

Don't confuse manual pivoting and visual sweeps.

When using CTE with visual sweeps after you acquire the visuals then focus on CENTRE BALL.

Then sweep into centre ball.

The sweep itself is the same as a half tip offset plus the pivot.

Also look at Chapter 5 again on Disc 1.
