Got any pictures, I like polished turds, did you do anything to rebuild the rails, or just make them look....well, ok?
Recalibrated rails, Black Diamond. Built out pockets, diamond specs, 4.5". Best playing tabke I've had. Better than most tournament diamonds I've played on. Miles better than a room full of gold crown 3s redone by one of you two.
I'm with Cleary....I'll take my beat down table, total cost 1600 bucks and my state pension job over sleeping in a van by the river. Keep er classy Glenn.

I've met few table mechanics that aren't arrogant as hell. Why?? Because they're doing life changing work? No... Because there are many things in life I would never attempt to do myself. Like my own dental work... My own lasik eye surgery... Try to fix an airplane... But there a lot of things I'll try myself before paying someone, like setup a pool table. There's little risk involved, so why not? Well, this scared the shit out of people who do that for a living. Yes, they're better. Congrats. You should be... It's what you do.
Do YOU know how to work on an airplane, if not, what qualifies YOU to say that someone who works on pool tables couldn't have taken up the airplane mechanic trade in the first place and turned out to be a great mechanic on them? Yeah, I know, working group on pool tables is NOT like building a rocket ship to the moon, but once again....what would you know about rocket science, you're an old, broken down pool player....LOLThank God, they could never get a job working on airplanes!..
Cleary, I have never met a table mechanic, who was NOT arrogant as hell!..They act as though lasik eye surgeons, are well below them in performing difficult operations, and table repairs are true works of art, that only they can possibly comprehend!.."Polished turd" remarks are typical of their efforts at putting others down!..Thats about the extent of their descriptive vocabulary!![]()

PS.. Thank God, they could never get a job working on airplanes!..
Never scared me a bit, actually kind of made me feel a little sick to tell you the truth. I've spent years trying to make people aware of what bad work is by showing good work to compare it to. I'm the first to admit it's a crap shoot trying to find a good table mechanic to perform the work, and I've provided enough information out there for some people to collect that info and do the work them selves, because their options to hire someone stunk. I've always been trying to move this industry forward in a positive way....and then you come along, along with the OP and show the world....you don't need tables done right, who cares what the end result is....just as long as it didn't cost me much money. Couldn't you have at least....given a better example....I would have expected more out of someone like you as you're always trying to belittle my work every chance you get....and then you show off some shit work....and don't say it's OK....because you saved some money....WOW.Well, this scared the shit out of people who do that for a living.
Now what you could be doing is preaching to all the younger pool players today to help them smart choices in life while they're young enough to still have a chance to do so, because if the don't, they run the risk of turning into old, grumpy, can't make a ball, drinking the rest of their remaining years away....wasting into nothing....pool players. Now from what I hear, you'd be a great spokes person for that, because you can take work on airplanes OR build rockets hips to the moon....either! <--????
Old..yes, Grumpy..yes, Drinker..yes!..But I can honestly say, I'm happy I never had to brag about how good I was at what I did, which seems to be the ONLY thing you ever do?..BTW, I can still put my thoughts together, better than someone like you, who is a lot younger than me!..Now, could you please explain your last sentence, so it makes, at least some tiny bit of sense, to anyone but you? :sorry:
Thank You,
SJD..OWUPP--Old, Washed Up Pool Player!..(which will always be light years ahead of being an 'Old Washed Up Pool Table Repairman'.)..
, so I guess I'll be working on pool tables for the rest of my life....and loving every minute of life!
And YOU recalibrate the rails?....oh lord...LOL I'm almost afraid to ask....but what the heck, got any pictures of YOUR work, you've seen my work, I'd just like to see work done better by YOU than Mark and I both put together can do.....LMFAO
I bought a 9 foot table and ended up setting it up myself, with money being one of the major factors in that decision, and I have no regrets. RKC's guide to leveling 3 piece slate worked like a charm (Sticky thread in table mechanics section).
I bought the RKC Simonis dvd set for bed and rail cloth installation, watched them a couple of times, then got started. I played the DVDs as I did the installation, watching a section, then Pausing the dvd to complete each part, step by step. The bed cloth was really not that bad. The rails were a little tricky, but I went slow, and was able to figure it out. The Simonis 860 on my table came out perfect. The dvd really is worth the money, it shows exactly how to properly stretch any worsted wool cloth.
Table covering took me about 6 hours the first time because I went really slow to ensure no mistakes, and I was by myself. I'm sure it will go quicker the next time. If I can do it, I'm pretty confident anyone can as long as they follow the video and take there time...

You won't be working on mine!
Thank God for that, I'd hate to put you on my 4 year waiting list, not that I even would....LMAO
