Cloth

I am strictly a dark green cloth by Simonis........I do not care for the Blue cloth that seems so popular.
Pool tables should look the way the were through the ages.......a 6 legger with green cloth is the best.
So you don't have a 6 leg pool table as the vast majority aren't, you can still enjoy the playing on green.

p.s Red cloth looks like a pool table you'd find in a friggin' brothel.

What is the best color of cloth to play on. Mine is red and I've been told it's the worst color!

Yep it is, that and black, or any very dark color. The standard ones are green - green/blue - and tan, I don't know of any other colors used in any pro events. Red is the typical home room table color that people that don't really play pick out. No offence :embarrassed2: but I don't know any "player" that picked a red color for their table, unless their wife said "no table unless it's red" LOL

During an commentary on a match one of the pros (Buddy Hall maybe) was asked what color cloth he liked, he said "green", then said that the tan color the Camel tour used was also nice to play on.

This is Simonis 860 in "mocha". Not camel or tan - easy on the eyes and great ball/pocket contrast.

Can never go wrong trying to please everyone on your table and being safe by going Tournament Blue or Brunswick Green.

Ok, but first I'm gonna guess...
....You have a set of pool-size snooker balls...
..and you friends stole 4 reds and the colors for gear shift knobs.

yeah, that's the ticket....:)

The cloth distribution hub for most of North America says that their #1 color sold last year was burgundy and next to that was camel...

Yep, and McDonalds sells more burgers than most other places LOL  Those red tables get sold to people that use the table as decoration or as something to do when they are bored or have a party or "Hey, I'm rich, I need a pool table in my house and a Jag in the driveway" type people. We all know those are not the "best" colors to pick for a table unless you are matching decorations LOL

Can't believe this hasn't been mentioned...it's beautiful...:lovies:

I grew up with green. I think a pool table looks wrong if it doesn't have green. Period.

But I like playing on blue better. Much easier on my eyes. That's just my opinion. When I get a table, it's tournament blue all the way.

But I miss green.

Red/Gold/Pink/Purple/whatever pairs well with a Budweiser cue, IMHO.

If I could get traditional green in a tournament blue, I would. I'm with you. I'm traditional. I'm also a realist, and the reality is that the tournament blue is the best color I've ever played on.

I grew up playing on green felt but my table has electric blue. I gave my wife options blue or green and she selected the final shade. Happy wife happy life and all. Not sure I believe that 100% of the time ;-)
