Any pool in Tulsa

Way too smokey!

I play there just about every Saturday night on table 2. I go there mostly for the live music and to check out the trim. The cloth on the Diamond 7 footers is shot. There are holes where the 1 balls set. The cloth is slow from the cigarette smoke.
I played at Mr. Breakrack's house this weekend. The whole time I kept smelling an ash tray. Eventually I realized it was my glove. "Not too smokey"?
That said, I leave 50 to 100 bucks there a week.
The Queen Spot is a very nice place. I am sad to inform you good folks that Ken Ken is now bed ridden and the Q Spot is now under new ownership as of this week. Please keep Kenny in your prayers and thoughts.
As for the history of his lathes. Tulsa has a lot of cue making history. Most is started from Joel Wienstock. He thought or started us all. Joel thought Brian Leonard. I apprenticed under Brian. Myself being the youngest cuemaker in Tulsa, I guess I gotta wait for Eddie to move on for my turn at Magoos.
But seriously, Ken Ken is not well. I wonder what will happen to his lathes.

I like Magoos... one of the best Pool rooms I been to. You can get all the action you want & we see lots of match ups. I play GOLF on the Kling Snooker table every Friday & Saturday... great place.

Pete quit building cues years ago. I believe he sold all of his machinery and stock to Eddie Farris. Shame...he built a good cue.

Hate to here that. I liked Pete and he did indeed make a nice cue. A great friend of mine in OKC has a bunch of high dollar cues but his prized possession is a sneaky Pete that Pete made for him. I played in a tournament at the BP back in 2005 (I think). My Pechauer brass shaft insert came out and somehow Pete got it repaired before my final match. That was the day I decided to start carrying two shafts. But he sure saved my butt and the craziest part is he didn't even charge me. He said he couldn't guarantee it'd stay because I played with it within minutes of him finishing. I sold it 2 years ago and it was still holding.

Jack Shurtz just recovered ALL OF THE DIAMOND POOL TABLES- APPROX 2 WEEKS AGO"
NEW SIMONIS CLOTH

I hate to hear the Billiard Palace closed. Whatever happened to the cue maker Pete Petrie (spelling?) that was there back in the early to mid 2000's. He saved my bacon one time with a repair during a tournament. I always felt like I should have bought a cue from him for that.

Pete retired from cue-making...
" too bad...
"He was getting really good, really fast too"
