Are the Unicersal Shafts related to the Unversal Cues?

On Universal Shafts, I see one with an 'L' and another with an "A4." Can someone enlighten me?

Universal shafts came first. It was a collaboration between Cue & Case, Bill Stroud and their manufacturer in China. The shaft kinda fizzled out. But then the manufacturer in China has since ran with the Universal brand name for complete cues and I believe Omega Billiards in the USA has the exclusive for Universal here.

Thanks, Shane. I'll get with Michael to see if there's more info.

... they had (still have) a nice adapter, so ONE shaft could be easily fitted onto multiple cues by exchanging just the adapter.

I actually have an Universal cue. Also, they have like 4 different shafts.
Take the SmartShaft II LS if in doubt.

Mine came with a MAX8 which has noticeable more deflection than a Cuetec R360, but uses better wood and sealing.
