Beat a local pro/shortstop

I've started playing three years ago and was playing in our pool hall's Sunday tourney and beat a shortstop/pro 4-1 (he made the final 32 of the Texas open). I know, I know. Short race, he didn't shoot great, but I actually shot really well. I made to the hill in both my losses against guys with Fargo ratings of 680+. Getting better on the 9 footers (our APA league here is in 8' tables). For a lowly APA 6, it feels good to see my work paying off. Anyways, I know cool story bro, but hope everyone out there is having fun and shooting straight.

Always feels good to beat better players. It's part of the journey to improvement. That said, keep in mind that, like you stated, your work is paying off. Don't make the mistake of thinking that your work has enabled you to arrive at your destination. Some do make that mistake, and then get too cocky and get their butts handed to them. Keep things in perspective, and enjoy your day in the sun!

Thanks! Yeah I'm getting close to cashing in the tourney, haven't yet. At least now I'm winning some matches and not an easy victory like I was a year ago.
