Defend your CROWN, John! :)

Long live the king.

Dave

The flyer says, "Players must be 70 years old."
For crying out loud!
How about writing, "Players must be at least 70 years old."
How about the TD get on top of that ASAP.

It's things like this that really vex me.
Part of being taken seriously by sponsors and would-be investors, is
to ensure we communicate properly.

Yes, yes, I know some of you will chastise me for being so picky, but
this is more important than you know--this speaks to business dynamics in ANY industry.

The people running our tournaments are the ones who should know this stuff.
Proper communication makes us all look good; especially to those "outside" our industry.

I think we need to cut them all some slack. I mean, it's 24 *really* old guys.

Lou Figueroa
hope there's room enough
around the tables
for them to use their walkers :-)

Good point! Let's just cancel the tournament. More than cancel, let's publicly shame all the entrants and the promoter. That'll teach them!!! Oh, and then we can tell everyone they won't need to be sponsoring anything ever again - at least until we get a proper editor and some good sense about what we are communicating to the world.

I mean, I'd rather have perfect clarity in written language than put together a tournament for the founding grandfathers to show them how much we appreciate all their hard work. It'll waaayyyy better to type accurately than to show appreciation. The internet told me so.

this should be a really great event
its pool like mortals play but higher level than that
yeah they miss some easy ones from time to time
and they may play alittle more conservative in their shot selection
understanding what they can and can not do NOW
but you get to see how the mind works of veteran onepocket players
i am very happy to watch it
so i can learn something
good luck to all the players
:):)

Four players left. I lost the hot seat match to Billy Incardona. James Christopher plays Bob Ogburn at noon central time today and I play the winner. Whoever wins that plays Billy in the final in a double elimination match.

I put Don on the one loss side in a tough match. Good guy and good player. I believe he placed 5th/6th.

It is being streamed for free. Check one pocket.org for stream info.

SERIOUSLY??????

Great stuff hope my one pocket mentor Reggie does well

1

I just saw Reggie about a week ago at The Hat but I really didn't pay attention to his match at all. I was just on the phone with a buddy last night and Reggie and his age actually came up. How is he hitting them these days One? I know for decades he was probably in the top 3 in one pocket in our area. Hope he did OK in this tourney!
