How is someone like jian bo fu still rated over 800 considering since 2011 he's made like 10k$ total in tournament winnings. Isn't fargorate based off tournament record? And also besides his stellar performance in doubles championships n one second place finish in the world 10 ball he has barely any other wins and for sure no major wins so unless he wins 9-0 n always loses on the hill I don't understand his rate. I also remember reading that recent performance holds higher values than past performance so shouldn't the lack of success in the last 4-5 years bring his rate down incredibly?

Also did Jeremy jones success at the US open augment his rate? He's like 60-70 in the US and I get that Fargo is based off wins/losses but compared to about 50 of the 60 guys ahead of him in the US his tournament winnings has to be better at least In the last 2-3 years so I don't get how he's so low or how they're so high considering strictly tournament money and hoping there's a good correlation between money earned n win/loss percentage.

Sorry for the crazy intricate questions and I don't mean to imply any negativity or whatnot. Actually I love Fargorate, I have the app n top 100 lists stored in my history for instant access and I absolutely view and use Fargo all the time. Just wanted to throw that in so u don't think I'm trying to start a bash thread I just feel some of the guys ratings would be different but maybe u can provide the stats to show why they're were they are. Thanks in advance

Jianbo Fu hasn't played outside of China in the last few years (that we are aware), but his record inside China is stronger than you might be thinking.

For instance just a few months ago in the China Open he has a winning record of 35 to 32 against Lee Van Corteza, Niels Feijen, Corey Deuel, and Can Wang

See recent record below.

While JJ had a great tournament finish at US Open (5th place), his actual performance level was very good but not great. He was 26th by SPR. (again, see below). This is basically an event-specific Fargo Rating that knows your strength of schedule and knows your individual match scores. His rating went up, though, because this SPR of 795 or so was higher than his rating.

no problem....

Lol leave it to Mike to add another element of confusion to Fargo rate with the spr smh. Jk but now I wanna know how this spr is figured out. I'm aware mike dechaine had a great tournament I saw he beat like 5 great players and had some 11-0,11-1 wins or something to that affect but I do t get how archer or Morris could of been rated that high without cashing? I guess if u played one match and lost hill hill to Shane and he's a 836 or so ur spr would be in the 800s?

However I don't see Bergman on that list n he beat a few top players and both his losses were to high rated players n were I believe 11-10:11-9 so if my estimation of the spr is accurate I assume he would of had a nice score.

I could prolly go all day picking ur brain about Fargo ratings and records and pool in general but I'm sure ur a busy man so I'll try not going further down the rabbit hole so to speak. Again Thanks for ur time kind sir it's pretty cool that u stay in touch with azb and answer regular questions. I appreciate that about u and I really do love Fargo rate and the app I'm constantly checking to see updates n how players n moving up m down the list not to mention the countless randomn people I've looked up for shitsngiggles

Bergman had an SPR of 777 in the US Open--a little below his actual speed of 795. Generally the players finishing high in major tournaments are going to have SPRs notably above their Fargo Ratings. Here is the way to look at Justin's performance. His SPR is an average of his performance over individual matches (weighted by the number of games played)

Note that when he beats Chip Compton 11-7, that is a higher level of performance than when he beats Chris Futrell by the same score.
