I am restricted by CA law, not the Federal version, from buying a Hercek cue I've been searching for in vain.
I cannot sell any of my cues while physically in CA, nor can I order another cue to be made nor buy a cue.
This is entirely due to my preference to use ivory for the joint & ferrules in the pool cues I own and play with.
However, if I step across the state line, say for example Nevada, I can sell my cues or buy more pool cues.
As long as the state I am physically in at the time my sale or purchase does not have any ivory restrictions,
I can wheel & deal in as many cues as I can afford & bring the cues back into California without consequences.
The challenge is finding the right cue that's offered by the seller that could meet in say LV, maybe at a cue show.
Aside from that, legally my hands are tied and so until and unless that were to happen, my collection is capped.
And the worst part is there been a flurry of Hercek cues within the last 4-5 weeks all priced really attractively.
How ironic this is but that's life in general for everyone. It's the timing of things that determines one's fate.
