at the back is this page where there is a list of things to learn to get to the next level
on the list is
RULE OF THREES
i have never seen a reference to that
i am familiar with most everything else on the list
can anyone explain to me the RULE OF THREES

LArry, I think that is in reference to when shooting to a natural "corner 5" type of shot, when you shoot through the 3rd diamond on the first rail (long rail), it returns you to the opposite diamond of where your cueball begins. So if you are shooting from the corner (5), you would return to the opposite corner. If you are shooting from 1 diamond from the corner on the short rail, you would return to 1 diamond from the opposite corner on the same short rail.

This is a fun book to have especially for beginners. There was a poster of this book that could be hung in a pool room.

thanks for the reply
i am familiar with what you describe...several references call it system 30
since you aim at 30 and adjust from there
i could see how rule of three (30) could be that
as for the poster
i went to a pool hall in st louis (cue and cushion) recently where they had a billiard table and the poster was near it
thats where i first learned of the book
i spoke to bob jewett about it since he has a nice collection of billiard and pool items
and he had a pamphlet he would sell me
