Shaft

Most are laminated in some way so that's one way to tell. Mezz and Meucci both make LD shafts that aren't lamin. so you really need to know make/model to be sure. What are you looking at?

If a shaft is not marked, the only way to tell if it is low deflection is to hit some balls using left or right side English.

Just because a shaft looks like a piece of plywood-----this does not mean it is low deflection.

There really isn't much difference from high deflection and low deflection.

Good luck!

Would they be LDS thanks for the info.
Probably not. Not that big of difference. Your eye-hand-brain will adjust to whatever you use. I've had both and the biggest difference to me is using inside. These shots are easier(not a lot) with a LD shaft. I really like the SS360 shaft. Its fairly low in deflect. but has a crisp, solid-shaft feel. To me most LD's have a dead feeling to them. You've just got to try a few to find what you like.
