If you're really an APA 8, then you are dead wrong. You didn't specify much, but if wanna you try that on a 9ft diamond you got action till the end of the world here in Texas.
I've watched Troy (Deathball) do this a couple different ways, but he in general the last several times I saw him, he was taking the break and the 6-out or 5-out, BIH after the break, depending on who he was playing. I've seen him offer to give the 1-ball while he took the break and the rest.
For 15 Pokémon cards, that's quite tough to fade

It's pretty easy, I just go to the pool hall several times a week and I have a table. I don't know what you consider regular, but almost everyday seems pretty regular to me. And you obviously have much to learn about pool. I mean a apa 8 and all you probably know most everything though, obviously more than me as I've never played in leagues. Offer still stands though. If you ever find yourself in Texas, shoot me a pm and I'll get to kicking and playing long shots till I'm broke.
I heard of this being done before, with the same result. Guy giving up the spot smoked the other guy. The spot was a good hit on the 8. But that doesn't matter when a 6 pack followed by a safety followed by a 6 pack are in the books.
Yep, the guy I saw giving up this spot and winning was Billy Peay. He didn't run any 6-packs but he completely controlled the table and of course the other guy was a banger.
You're only an apa 8. That means you miss and not all your safes work out. I was a 9 when I quit APA 5 years ago. I still play everyday and I feel my game really jumped after I quit league... With all that being said, I still miss and play bad safes.
It's a huge spot, but an 8 is no lock in this game.

Unless the skill difference isn't that much, an 8 is probably biting off more than they can chew asking for that. Sounds dandy and all, but reality is a *****.
On a 9' Diamond, I'd offer it up first, because it all but guarantees me a shortened runout.

You said you could be competitive with anyone with that spot except for maybe 100 players. I can name 10 in my state alone that are not pros that can out run that spot. I can name another 4 that are pros in my state that can out run it.
Sure you might run out a rack occasionally. The thing is as soon as you miss or play that loose safe they are definitely out or playing a successful safe. You have to play perfect every time you get to the table. It's kinda like playing the ghost (with the exception of you being allowed to play a safe). I know how I play against the ghost and I wouldnt want to put money on it.
Constantly mentioning your handicap isnt really helping your case in this. Being an 8 means you are decent in a pool league. Boasting about that number outside of league will hurt you more then help you because you just completely gave up the element of surprise. They have a good idea of your speed now.

It's definitely a big spot, I probably cant out run it because I will probably make a mistake after the 8 does. What I am saying is that there are a lot of players out there that wont make a mistake.
It's easy to say "I will either run out or play a safe and you will have to go kicking" but it's another thing doing it successfully.

Unless apa 8s on the East Coast play like burning hell, cuz in the Midwest they suck. Plain and simple. No apa 8 is beating the ghost for damn sure. I'm pretty sure you can't show me a apa 8 that can average, over the course of a 100 games, a run to the 7 ball every rack. Talking 9ft Diamond here.
