What's the reason we write things down and take pictures?

To remember!!

Why remember?

To learn from the lesson, be it good or bad, and not repeat mistakes!

These are 5 pictures of our youth during The Atlantic Challenge Cup.
Team USA did not prevail.

If we are to remain competitive in Pool/Billiards then our training efforts must be stepped up.

This cannot be accomplished by one or two or even 10 people.

This must be a concerted effort to unite room owners, trainers, players, industry, academia and of course the people who love the game and want to see it flourish into the sport it's meant to be.

Whether it's in deed or dollars, we must help ourselves NOW!

USAPL New England, junior program.

2 kids sent to World championship last 3 years from our area alone, 10+ sent to Junior Nationals every year.

Top 2-3 finishers in the Junior Nationals girls events.

My son has been consistently in the top 25% in Junior Nationals every year for 4 years.

Best junior program in the country and none of our kids can beat the Asian or European players. Our best players are dedicated to school work more LOL

The top two girls in the program can probably do better if they played more. And my son can probably make it to Worlds if he was not so stubborn in learning and fixing his stance and aiming.

I always say, the US juniors are good junior players. The Asian and European kids are small pro players. April is pretty far ahead of every other US girl player and she is still well behind the overseas girls.

Yes, we are missing that training curriculum totally LOL, it's all up to the parents to seek out and get instruction and tournaments to play in vs a program you can join that is national or at least organized.

The issue with parents doing it, unless you can spend $200 a week on lessons and the kids are taking it as "school" vs "something to do when I'm bored", it won't go far.

There is also the whole attitude with US kids vs others and how they view schooling in general. US kids goof off a lot more, Asian kids especially due to how he culture is overall are a lot more serious about learning. The fact that the US is well behind most other countries in education carries over into pretty much anything that requires training like billiards to get good at.

I can say this much. I wrote things down in my early 20s that I had to draw upon to bring myself back up to speed after a 15 year break from competition. You forget things and with pictures you see what you are doing wrong in your fundamentals. Video/photos are a great tool to fix issues in your game. IMO...
