To be honest I actually agree with you, I'd like to see a World Team Cup too, but I guess TV schedules probably mean Matchroom prefer the pairs version.
Let's just be honest: if the Mosconi Cup became a world event, Team U.S.A. would never win.
Let's at least allow Team U.S.A. to win another of these two-country MCs events before we consider branching out.
Yes, it sucks that we have to take it 'on the chin' and accept a foreign coach at the helm.
Matchroom is not stupid. They seem to be shaking up the MC on purpose.
It seems as if the MC event is "going stale" in terms of outcome, and so Matchroom has to do something to change the dynamics.
As I said before, I don't like the idea of a foreign coach for Team U.S.A., but business is as business does.
