Using Customer Supplied Wood

I am using, for the first time, customer supplied wood for a build. It is a good friend of mine, and they are Tulipwood and ebony. Both were purchased a few years ago at the SBE, and I have had them resting in my possession for a little over a year and they are as stable as they are going to be. My questions for the experienced builders out there, are:
How does one adjust their pricing, if they do?
Do you return the extra wood left over? They are both 18" long so there will be some leftover.

Very little to no cost reduction for their wood, especially if it is square. Might add some to the price and delivery time if it has to be turned. Their return for the exotic woods comes on the back end. You have all the exposure working those two high strung woods. Keep the excess.
 
Technically it was...his wood. Now it's yours. If the Tulip is for the Forearm. You already know eneogh about Tulip wood. That it should be cored.

Definitely will be cored, also, he wants a cue around 18-19 oz total, so the ebony will be also. It'll be a 'fun' build. I have stable tulip and ebony from my own stock standing by in case something goes wrong in the lab. We have talked design, but not price yet, hence the questions. I may make some joint protectors out of the extra.

Well said Dave.
 
You have the same if his wood goes south. So very little if any price deduction. Usually using the customer's wood makes me have to do more work. It almost always seems to work out that way for some reason or another.

I kinda feel that way too, at the very least, I've babysat these pieces for the last year and a half, and these are still squares, so a bit more work then what I already have flowing in the river.
