Tell Efren Reyes or Arnie they cannot play Carom Billiards with a Pool Cue

ive told this to a few ive spoken of, its kind of annoying watching effren spider bridging/ overstroking / over chalking in the balkline game, he can make some shots,

its just hard for me to watch as i said,

i really enjoy watching eddy leppens(the ref) play 1 cushion and balkline


he plays billiards like a pool player ;)

Actually it not the cue.... The Reason, Europeans, who have dominated carom in all its forms,,,,, Its so simple ...Like Asia ,Spain, and South America they got an outstanding Junior Training Program for Carom. Just like England with their Junior Snooker Training Programs. Some Americans Have try Junior Training... But no serious Programs as Other Countries!! Do you really think all the early era American Players in Carom Billiards use carom cue , no they were Pool Cue...

Why do you use a Smart Phone because you actually need it or somebody kept telling you it was better. The same go for cue Did Al Gilbert Use a Carom cue or a Martin Pool cue?

I leave That answer to the so call expert.

The question would go for Snooker Players playing Pool with Snooker Cue or Pool players playing Snookers using Pool cue.

Or Why have cues length change over the time 55", 57", 58", 59", & etc.

That like trying to answer which diameter to use on shaft a 9MM to 13 1/2 MM which is better. Or telling someone that not the correct bridge or stance, if the player is comfort and does what he need to win .. he correct.

Its what the players wanted to use, that simple ..no reason
My point use what you want and enjoy the game... Its Good Friends, Good Foods, AND Good Fun

Doubt that Jasper's, Caudron, polychron,merckx,kang,choi,cuelemans,lee,tb, tafun and all the rest dont Play with snooker cues because they just like carom cues better

I'm going out on a limb here, but it's probably because carom cues work better for the application of carom games

Call me crazy or wrong, im wrong daily on things

beneath_the_sur The point is and simple put. If I want to play you a carom games with a Pool Cue , are you telling me you won't play, because I'm not using the correct cue for the game????

We can talk stiffness , ball weight , deflects , and etc. But we each use what we want.in the end.

Look at Meccui Cue history. Every Players wanted a Meccui when all the pro players were using them. Now what. Its about what consumers/players want!
 
I play 14.1and 1pkt with carom cue
It works for me,

Pool cue don't work too well for any game for me,
And I don't seen Any pros using pool cues in 3c

I don't use pool cues, Im much better with carom cue

You can play 3c with a broom handle if you like, I've seem people do so

I'm not talking about a brand,

You said , do you use a smart phone because you need to or because it's what others like

So if Ronnie o grabs a 55inch cue with a 12mm European taper cue, the snooker world will follow?

Is that what your saying?

What I'm saying is the pros in carom, probably don't use a 13mm 60inch pro taper Pool Cue for a reason
 
From reading that thread, seems most posters prefer
Carom cue or atleast shaft
For carom games

One person in the thread agreed with you is probably more pool player that plays 3c sometimes, and not so much a carom player, a little presumptuous perhaps on my part, but hey I been wrong before

In the late 60's and throughout the 70's almost all top American three-cushion players used Rambows or Martins. Allen Gilbert used a Martin. After the 1978 World Championships in Las Vegas (won by Ceulemans with a 1.6 average) the American players began moving toward cues more like the ones used by the Europeans. Ray Schuler was the leader of this movement, and by the early 80's almost all of the top Americans (Gilbert, Torres, Ashby) had Schuler cues. Bert Schrager also made carom-specific cues that were in wide use. Not long after that the Helmstetter line came along.

Interestingly, Schuler learned the trade from Rambow, and Schrager from Martin. Continuing that tradition, Dennis Dieckman got started by working for Bert.

(I have played with Martins, Schulers, Schragers, and Helmstetters, but my all-time favorite is the Dieckman that Dennis made for me ten years ago.)

There no fire to run from,, caused Carom Billiards Section never did get a fire lite,
Been one of the original AZer to request a carom section, maybe it time to request AZBilliards to remove carom Billiards section.

Did they win world championships like the guys using the carom cues??

You can use a screwdriver as a hammer, but that doesn't make it a good choice.

Let, see we use

a break cue now, because Pro use them

A Jump Cue, Because Pro use them

A Masse Cue , because Pro Trick artists use them

But then you go to a bar and use a Bar House Cue that been use for breaking, jumping, and masse.. to play with.

Just enjoy playing with the cue you have. Whether its a pool cue or carom cue

But then if an AZer deal in Carom Supplies business he might want to argue.

The next question you should ask ... Why so many different cue shafts for different carom game? But I will let those AZers' that sell Carom Table answer that.

I wonder what Azers would say, if I deleted all the PDF threads I started???
