I'm not sure what you are trying to do. My guess is adapt a shaft to work on a Viking Forearm. In terms of a standard unit and "boring it out"... I'm not sure that I would recommend that. Part of the beauty of the quick release is that the nose of the pin is "piloted" into insert. The result is a straight connection without the "wobble" in the joint that results from thread tolerance.
In the meantime, you can re-drill any std. $1.50 18tpi insert with a 17/64 drill and it will fit a Viking QR pin.
You need to buy nothing from no one unless you don't have the drill-bit. It's your money.
