Europeans vs USA for money!!

Sure but first you have to play in such tournament to have the chance to win it in the first place and I didnt see Justin play those really big international tournaments I mentioned at all. I believe that Justin IS capable of winning big one, it is just he doesnt play in those that confuse me a little bit..

I am sure that Bergman really does want to get out there and compete in the China Open, All Japan open, World 9 ball championships, and many other international events, but maybe he just does not have the money for all of the expenses. I do think he has the talent, and the mental game to compete with all the pro's on an international level. He did beat Orcollo in an exhibition match (?), and Shaw in a long race to a 100 iirc(?).

Yes, that was basically my question/thought if Justin has the need to win one of those big tournaments, if it is worth his time/effort to go there. Because like I stated in this thread - I believe Justin has all the tools to win such tournament, he definitely has the chance ;).

Not only a question of his time and effort, but the question of if he can afford the expenses of going overseas (if he does not have a sponsor to pay for them). I think he plays for Lomax cues, so I do not think he is getting paid any extra money for expenses. I am assuming that he just got a really nice custom made cue (made to his specs) for free by Lomax. He probably has to pay all of his own expenses, to get to tournaments, and pay for entry fees and hotels. Not cheap these days, and tournament payouts are very low also. I do not see how any pro players (other then SVB, who might be the only player in the US to get paid a nice big yearly salary to play for a certain cue maker) can do it, and get by.

Well Oscar beat Sky for the cheese a few years ago in a race to 100 then he lost to Bergman. As far the the best rotation money players in the US, here is my top 5 list in order:

1) SVB
2) Justin Bergman
3) Mike Dechaine
4) Rodney Morris
5) Skyler Woodward/Oscar(Toss up for me)

Skyler is such a solid and amazing player (with a very strong mental game). I think he would do very good at international tournaments.

not mostly 9 footers here in europe, theres not a single notable tourney played on 8 footers here! and i never saw one in asia........

I understand, and I used the word "mostly", because I was not sure if the Europeans come over to the US to play in any of the bar table events. Most of them probably do not, but I am not sure. I can't even imagine Albin Ouschan playing in a Bar table tournament, lol.

think there are always a few euros at the USBT every year........ didnt hohmann won a event once?

I do not see how it would even be worth it for the European pro's to fly over here for a tournament (like the USBT Championships), and then fly back home, unless they are getting help with the expenses. I see the Filipinos coming over here to play in the bar table tournaments too, but I think they might have very long extended stays over here (like maybe months at a time). I know at least 3 European pro players that now reside in the US (Appleton, Shaw, and Immonen). Not sure if any of those players play the bar table events though anyways.
