I have found that 860HR is a fantastic cloth, and I prefer to play 14.1.

760.....Simonis recommends it for straight pool....and so do I.

The straight pool players that favored heavier cloth were usually the ones that didn't want
hundreds being run on them...they were not doing the game a favor.
I even knew one top player who admitted that he preferred loose cloth....
...so even less runs were possible.

Do you compete elsewhere? If so, what type of cloth is on those tables? Practicing on 760 and then competing on slower cloth might be difficult.

I have 760. Very nice to play Straight Pool on.

From what I understand, 860HR has good properties of both the 760 and the 860.

I had Championship 760 cloth before the Simonis, and it was lightning fast. I didn't enjoy 14.1 as much with it.

You might also consider the speed of your cushions. Slower rubber perhaps the 760 would be better. Speedier cushion would conversely favor 860. This strategy can apply to any game.
