Sneakiest Pete for under $200?

I loved the old Valley Supreme house cues from the 90's. They came with very nice long tapers. I think they were thin enough in the butt end, and had a long enough taper in the shaft, that you could make a 2 piece sneaky pete out of them (without the need for building a custom shaft from a blank), and I would be happy with one, I imagine. I would not be happy with most other house cues, if they were cut in half, and a custom shaft (with a decent pro taper) were not used in the custom shaft. I tried out a conical LD shaft once (I think it was the OB2), and hated it. Even that shaft would be way better then anything that came from the shaft part of most house cues that were ever made. The Valley Supreme house cues were the only ones that I could really enjoy myself, when shooting pool. I do not know if the ones made today are as good quality as the really great ones from the 90's. The owner of my original home town pool hall cared about providing good quality, nice playing house cues.

:)

Yeah the old Valley Supreme was so good, that's what Bob Meucci used for his original sneaky pete.

Okay, then that is bad news in my opinion. A 1 piece house cue maple leaf Dufferin cut in half to make a 2 piece cue. Not good quality. If you are a decent player, or want to become a decent player, then I would suggest not choosing that option. Better to get the Schmelke for just a little more money. Much much better (far better quality in my opinion). I am done now. Good luck in your search for a good quality true sneaky for under $200. I tried my best to help.

I will say this, if you ever make it to Chicago, Dinner, drinks and pool are on me. All you can eat, baby :) You are one cat I have to meet ;)

Mchnhed, et al. I truly love the look of sneaky's but most really are not. One that fit all of your specs is a McDermott M 11 B. AKA Hustler. #3/8 pin too. They stopped making them in '09. J&J American had NOS a few years ago and maybe still do?? Nothing but a tiny gold shamrock at the bottom on the butt.

They do come up used now and then. Hey even the famous Justinb, had one, then sold it. That is a strong recommendation in itself. I love mine and would never sell it.

Very, very nice.
Well within the True Sneaky Pete Guidelines.
High Quality.
I just placed a WTB post.

Just stop Please.

If you don't know (which clearly you don't), why are you giving advice?

I've owned many SPs and have played with as many SPs as any seasoned veteran. Best value for the money for me was always The Huebler SP and I still own it. Best playing, most solid, envy of all? Dufferin SP.

But hey, if you ever want to become a good player, stay away from the Dufferin SP. Ar what point do you listen to advice???

Freddie

The 1st cue that I ever owned was a Dufferin sneaky pete (back in around 94). It was a true sneaky (with the maple leaf in the butt), from what I remember about it. I do not think it had that great of a taper on the shaft. I have had a Huebler sneaky too, and I really liked it. It was a very nice hitting cue. I am only speaking from my own experience with cues, and giving my own opinions about them.

Wasn't there a meucci post where you were telling others NOT to give their experiences of warpage? You're a riot.

People on that thread gave their experiences and their opinions. You told them not to do that.

On this thread, you ended your post saying these are my experiences and my opinions of them

I'm the one who does not understand.

I can't imagine myself ever telling anyone to not post their thoughts about their experiences and opinions about cues that that have played with in the past. That is the reason why forums were created (to give advice about things that you have opinions about, and to share your thoughts about things / topics). If you can find the thread, then please post a link. I am curious about what you think that I posted.

It was on the thread about someone asking about a Meucci Maximum cue.

You didn't like the banana comments....

Need a sneaky but cant seem to find any I like. Most of them arent sneaky at all and have logos. It would really help my situation if it had 3×8/10 thread as well. Suggestions please.
Not sure which cue shotcy is deciding on for a Sneakiest Sneaky Pete but for me.......

After 150 replies (thank you) and 3,000+ views in three days, I bought a used Players SP for $50.
Sanded it with 320. Waxed it and just finished shooting with it.

Works very well. Looks enough like a house cue.
The only tell is the small, thin black butt cap but it blends into the ebony colored rosewood really well.
The Gold, Players Logo came off with three swipes of the sandpaper.

I still plan on buying an old, really beat up, high end Joss, McD, Schon SP and distressing it.

'DING DING DING' We have the winner congrats Poolfool. Seen them, never hit one, look solid and think they are or were made by Summit ? Can/could be had for about $200.

And guess what ? IT's CALLED 'The Sneakiest Pete' but it's not quite there. Just buy one strip it, let your dog play fetch with it a few times and 'drill your chalk' to dirty up the ferrule sand shaft and chalk it up blue then burnish to seal.

Pow done:groucho:

-Late,

The answer was here the whole time....your title asks about the sneakiest pete. How about a SneakiestPete?
Here is one that was sold long ago but you can still get them from KOINNKID here on Az:

Lost sales!

Google "TNT Billiards, Little Canada MN"

Yep, nice little SP cue. I bought one a while back. I wound up giving it to someone on AZB that needed a cue. Can't go wrong with the price or the quality !!!!
