Why do people watch crap like that?
Sorry if this sounds rude, Mitch...
But, it's not crap. It's the cultural style to present shows in this manner.
Check out any Asian variety show and you will see the same dynamics.
Forget the fact that Efren is on the show.
Everything is relative as we know.
If you look closely, style crosses cultures.
Check out any Mexican variety show and you will hear similar sound effects during their shows.
I take it you are neither Asian nor Mexican (-American).
Indeed, the West has no patent on how entertainment should be.
Just a side note:
How clever is Efren. Watch him play "rock-paper-scissors."
On the first try, both men show "paper."
Now, any intelligent person should pick "rock" next. Why?
People often like to change their mind (strategy) thinking it will improve their chances.
In this case the best option is "rock." Why?
The other dude is probably going to change to the other two.
Efren changed to "rock." He can only tie, he can't lose in this instance.
Efren is intelligent indeed. That's why folks, he is/was such a smart pool player!

It's funny he said he was nervous, and I've heard him say that several times over the yrs. To always be so nervous, he sure controls himself well, when he's in the moment.
