Kaci and Shaw match ups?

I have watched some other matches on You Tube and Kaci did good against Shaw.

Any one know the won lost record when they matched up?

Two stars for Cracktherack!

1. The one that counts was last night. Shaw was a completely different animal during this tournament. This guy has all the chops, and balls the size of coconuts.

2. That Mark Wilson comment is one for the ages.

Ok then

Well I guess in over all competition Kaci has a slight edge on Shaw in their match ups.

But, based on comments on this thread and others the U.S. Open is the one that counts.

If so, does that mean all those that said Shane has yet to prove his #1 status because he does not win over seas are not giving enough credit to him for his 5 U.S. Open wins and unprecedented 3 in a row wins?

I wonder how Ko Pin Yi feels about his loss to Shaw and referee treatment on re-racking?

I think you can take the top 5-10 players in the world and argue over who’s the best all day long. It’s so close at that level a different one will be playing good for a stretch and beat the others.

Right on

I think you are spot on "vapoolplayer". Any one of a very few players can show up and beat any one in the world. We will never get to see enough head to head match ups to get a definitive answer.

That being said, I believe it takes several years of a player being on top to reach "legend" status. Earl, Efren and Shane dominated lots of pool for several years. Efren did it playing 9 Ball, 8 Ball and One Pocket. I still consider him the best all around player. But, in the big scheme of things there is a whole lot about pool I don't know!

A few years ago I watched Efren win a match against Shaw and was impressed with Shaw's shot making and thought if he slows down just a bit he would improve.

I don't know if he slowed down, but he definitely improved and right now he is really shooting accurate shots of all types.

I hope he takes up One Pocket, he could change the game maybe?

Shaw has been playing 1p more. He even entered a $500 or 1K 1p entry tournament this year.

Ko Pin Yi has to feel that he was robbed and Cheated. He handled the situation with uncommon Grace. It is a shame, and is unexplained, how the referee could re-rack and clean the balls for Shaw, and refused to do the same for Ko!! It is a Shame to have an asterisk on the Victory for Shaw, because he shot so well. However, there is no justification for not giving Ko the same allowances as Shaw. Additionally,it was stated in the Player's meeting ,as to what the rules would be!

I don’t think anyone seriously puts and aterisk next to his win. Obviously something went wrong with the handling of the match, but it was such a close match, no one can say what would have happened had the issue not happened.

Didn't Ko win that game? Doesn't make it "right", but certainly should rule out any discussion about an "asterisk" by Shaw's win.

Seems that this, along with little Ko's shot clock violation and refusal to be allowed to use his extra jump cue, that the Ko brothers were the center of most of the controversy this year. Who would have made that bet?
