Was just watching Nick Varner and Grady Mathews , 1988
They opened up saying it's been 7 weeks to get to the final 48 players dam !!!

That's because they all had to match up playing 7 ahead one-pocket to see who made the last 48.

REALLY? You really think it took 7 weeks to play that tournament?

That dumbass ESPN announcer used to say that for every tournament they showed back then, because they only showed one match per week - and the guys would all be wearing the exact same clothes.
They thought they could sell it as "live" TV when it was obviously taped....well, apparently some people fell for it.......

Ya I guess some did 40 yrs later with no knowledge of how they did it back then
